Eucalyptus globulus

Scent description: Camphor-like, penetrating scent. Eucalyptus is a fresh, stimulating oil. It blends well with lavender, lemon, and juniper berry.

Uses: Eucalyptus oil is highly antiseptic. It’s used as a massage oil to alleviate sore muscles, and as an inhalant to relieve lung and sinus congestion. Eucalyptus is also one of the strongest essential oils to help fight viral infections such as the flu.


Foeniculum vulgare

Scent description: Fennel essential oil has a sweet, herbaceous, licorice-like aroma. It blends well with geranium, lavender, lemon, rose and sandalwood.

Uses: Fennel can be used to reduce water retention, relieve constipation and nausea. Fennel essential oil can be used to heal bruises, rejuvenate mature skin, and relieve dry skin prone to acne.

Precautions: Avoid use during pregnancy or if susceptible to epilepsy. Fennel can be irritating to the skin.


Boswellia carteri

Scent description: Frankincense essential oil has a balsamic, slightly lemony aroma. It’s somewhat camphor-like and woody. It blends well with geranium, grapefruit, lavender, orange, patchouli and sandalwood.

Uses: Frankincense can be used to rejuvenate aging skin, fade old scars, and reduce inflammation. It can be used to treat acne, fevers, colds, bronchitis, laryngitis and nervous conditions. Frankincense can be used to treat infection of the lungs, reproductive organs and the urinary tract. It boosts the body’s immune system. Frankincense is a comforting oil that soothes, warms, relaxes the mind and aids in meditation.


Pelargonium graveoloens

Scent description: Fresh floral sweet scent, a woodsy combination of rose and citrus. Geranium blends well with bergamot, cedarwood, clary sage, jasmine, lavender, neroli, orange, rose, and sandalwood.

Uses: Geranium is a “balancing” oil. It has a calming, relaxing and uplifting effect both physically and emotionally. It is sometimes used to ease symptoms of PMS and menopause. Geranium is also an astringent and is useful in treating skin problems such as eczema, acne and stretch marks. It fights bacteria, viruses and fungi and is known to relieve skin inflammation.


Zingiber officinale

Scent description: Ginger essential oil has a sharp, pungent spicy aroma with a hint of lemon. It blends well with cinnamon, eucalyptus, geranium, lemon, orange, rosemary and spearmint.

Uses: Ginger can be used for reducing inflammation, headache, colds, nausea, diarrhea, sore throat, laryngitis, lung and sinus congestion. In a massage oil, ginger’s heating action can relieve pain from arthritis, sore muscles, menstrual cramps and headaches.

Precautions: Ginger essential oil is photosensitizing. Direct exposure to sunlight may cause dermatitis. Avoid use prior to sun exposure.


Citrus x paradisi

Scent description: Grapefruit essential oil has a fresh citrusy aroma, similar to lemon. It blends well with bergamot, orange and other citrus oils.

Uses: Grapefruit essential oil can be used for depression, migraines, kidney and liver problems, and water retention. Grapefruit essential oil is energizing and has antiseptic properties. It relieves and tones oily skin. Inhaling this oil can help with nervous exhaustion.

Precautions: Grapefruit essential oil is phototoxic. Avoid using prior to sun exposure.


Helichrysum italicum

Scent description: Helichrysum essential oil has a spicy, sweet, fruity aroma.

Uses: Helichrysum is used to treat acne, scar tissue, bruising, burns and mature skin. It helps relieve chest and sinus congestion, relieves aches and pains as well as menstrual discomfort. The scent of helichrysum helps relieve depression, nervous exhaustion and stress.


Hyssopus officinalis

Scent description: Hyssop essential oil has a herbaceous, fruity, slightly sweet aroma. It blends well with fennel, lavender, orange, rosemary and tangerine.

Uses: Hyssop is used to promote alertness and clarity of thought. It’s also used to treat colds and flu, viral infections, circulatory problems, nervous tension and asthma. Hyssop essential oil helps to heal bruised skin.

Precautions: Avoid if pregnant or susceptible to epilepsy. Hyssop essential oil can trigger a seizure. Avoid if dealing with high blood pressure.
